Last Tuesday the Edinburgh Two were on holiday so Mr Life and I took them up to Perth (the real one) for the day. They came up on the bus by themselves and met us at the station, which was a first. Transport enthusiast Big Grandson goes on buses by himself quite a lot - for bus inspection and exploration purposes - but he doesn't normally do this with his little sister, who's less intrepid. He was told not to stride off without her, so here he is, holding her hand firmly. Look at his long hair! He has really nice hair but I think it could do with a cut...
Anyway, we had a good day at the museum and by the river.
"Look at the lovely view!" I said. "There's a Citylink coach going over that bridge," replied Big Grandson.
There was an exhibition about Macbeth - mainly the play, not the man - at the museum - with some amusing cartoons about it, as well as some interesting information.
Apart from that, my life has been full of fairly mundane stuff, such as making seating plans for our choir's impending concert. It's not as easy as you'd think. And then people complain...
Wow, I guess he is famous! :) I remember your expression when I mentioned that you'd probably never heard of him, but that I was related to a Scottish poet. Of course you were familiar with him! That's wonderful that Grandson still loves transportation and is so knowledgeable. My almost 5 year old grandson has moved (mostly) from construction equipment and trains to space (rockets and astronauts) which is rather sad but normal.
ReplyDeleteGardens are so much work which luckily, I still find quite joyful. There are limits though! A friend's son was similarly passionate about trains since childhood. He now works for a huge rail transport company.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Mr L, I hope the the exhibition was up to expectations (and the afternoon tea at the cafe up to Birthday standard!). This "getting older" bit is such a nuisance. There are so many things I want/need to do, and the energy level means 'one at a time' not three at once as I once could. We had a doozy of a storm, with gale force winds overnight and it kept both os us awake. As I'm profoundly deaf without my hearing aides, that tells you haw bad it was! Today I'm flat, but there's too much to do to be able just to curl up with a book. I'd better go and make a chicken and vegetable dish for 12 people... fortunately they're not coming here!
ReplyDeleteDoing stuff is an understatement! I love all your adventures - especially the ones with the grandchildren. Happy Belated Birthday to Mr. Life!
