It's Biggest Granddaughter's 13th birthday today (13!!) so yesterday we had a celebratory lunch at Swanston and then walked up the hill behind the brasserie, past the old Swanston Village. It was a beautiful day.
The hills still had some snow on them, but it was quite warm on the lower slopes.
You can see how near we are to the city - no distance at all, really. Just a golf course away.
Littlest Granddaughter decided that she wanted to play the violin. We feel she may have unrealistic expectations, but Daughter 2 asked us to send her own violin down to her, and she found a second hand, half-size violin online to give Littlest a few lessons without committing to a teacher. The violins arrived together. When we were taking Daughter 2's instrument to the post office, we felt a bit like the gangsters in Bugsy Malone, concealing our machine guns. The post office chap was amused. I don't think he'd ever accepted a violin in the post before.

ReplyDelete. Spring certainly has sprung there. We have Autumn things beginning to happen. Walnuts falling, fruit ripening and we are eating feijoa fruit ( the ones you don't grow there )
Happy 13rd Birthday to L! Wasn't she just a little girl and not a teenager? I played the violin like Daughter 1; it's a difficult instrument to learn but if L. is dedicated, it will happen. Or not. I like how your daughter and you are letting her figure that out on her own. :) Gorgeous flowers--we're not there yet but soon.
ReplyDeleteIt's actually not L who is learning to play the violin, but her little cousin (who is 8). We are going to see how it goes. I was never very good and I haven't played since 1996 but it'll be quite fun to experiment! (Daughter 2)
DeleteThat's wonderful that LG wants to play violin! My daughter surprised me with that pronouncement when she was about 8 and she took off with it playing in a Youth Orchestra as well as with school. She still plays a bit. Your garden flowers sure are bursting forth. Mine just emerged from the snow!

Our sons started violin at age 9 - that is when the school music instruction startes over here. Now our eldest grandson started at the same age. This year he switched to saxophone and both the boys (age 7 and 10) started piano. Music does such wonderful things for the brain! (not so much for grandma's ears - I am in charge of pracice time!) Your garden flowers are beautiful! We have nothing here yet. Even though we have had an occasional day in the upper 80'sF (30 C), then it goes down to well below freezing! But I am starting seeds indoors! And I have geraniums blooming in my windowsill.

I sent over my transaction IDs, chat logs, and screenshots as requested. Their team uncovered how the platform had artificially inflated balances right before freezing everything. They packaged the evidence professionally and escalated it to the right contacts. The platform had no defense and released all my funds, principal and profits. When that money finally cleared, I became a believer.

I got carried away, thinking they were genuine, not realizing I was dealing with dishonest people. After I invested $120,000, they never allowed me to withdraw my funds and kept demanding more money, which seemed completely unreasonable. I filed several complaints with the bureau, and they referred me to an expert I now contact via FUNDSRETRIEVER /at/ PROTON.ME. I have to say, I’m truly impressed. They handled my case very well and successfully recovered my money. I highly recommend their services to anyone who has fallen victim to a scam.
