Saturday's child
Thanks so much for the good wishes.
Above, Grandson meets Volume 2 - who is still a bit pink and squashed and no wonder, since she was 9 and a half pounds (which is why her mum felt a bit full. Grandson was only 7 pounds 2 ounces).
He seems intrigued and has given her some nice kisses and pats.
She is nameless ( nine months plus twelve days isn't enough time to decide on a name, apparently) so we're currently calling her Mini, short for Voluminia, which has been a recent variation on Volume 2. Mini isn't terribly appropriate considering her size but we hope a proper name will emerge eventually. Well, we're hoping it'll emerge tomorrow. But for tonight, we're all a bit sleepless.
She's lovely, though!

awww, how sweet.
ReplyDeletecongratulations to all.
My 3rd son was that weight. Heaviest baby, but smallest adult ! Love to all of your family. I have been logging on to your posts for what seems like weeks waiting for the news.
ReplyDeleteGracious, a bit full indeed! A big hug to the big brother!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! Congratulations to you all. So glad she's arrived safely.
ReplyDeleteOur newest granddaughter also made her mum and dad wait well beyond due date and then it took another long while to choose a name. But I agree you can't always choose a name without seeing the person you're choosing it for----it has to fit!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! She looks adorable ... I do laugh at the people who don't have a name when the baby arrives - why? is it a surprise? what were you expecting?
ReplyDeleteBest wishes on the new family member!. I hope we get to see as much of her as Volumn 1. He is such a cutie
ReplyDeleteOh my, she's a big little thing! Perhaps she wants to choose her own name.
ReplyDeleteAwww! She is lovely! So glad little nameless is here at last. Best wishes to mom, dad and little volume 1

Very dear, indeed......
ReplyDeleteRecently I asked my grandson who is eight if he remembered life before his brother was born. His brother is two. And I was surprised that Nathan could not remember such a thing as life before Stephen. In no time at all y1our little grandson will probably feel that his sister has always been part of his life.
How gorgeous! Glad she's finally arrived.
ReplyDeleteNever Mind! You've answered my question. I'm very anxious to know what the new little name will be! Amazing how big she is -- she sure looks beautiful and healthy!
