Mr Life is 60 and a bit

Above, the cake on the actual day.

The second cake on the official birthday with the extended family.

My mother, Mr Life and his cousin, with cake.

Cousin, Daughter 1 and her husband being a bit silly.

Son and Daughter 2 being affectionate.

Son wearing Daughter 2's necklace as coronet. Regal.

Son-in-law wearing the necklace that Daughter 1 had just given me. Fetching.

Daughter 1 reading paper after the guests had gone. Restful.

Recycled birthday badge. Don't know why it decided to post itself sideways. Sometimes my technical incompetence surprises even me.

  1. Happy Belated birthday Mr. Life! Look at all those yummy cakes. And I forgot to mention, having lived in Germany 25 years ago, that we have those same butchered German conversations in our house too!

  6. The second cake on the official birthday with the extended family. What a lovely photograph of Mr Life with the second cake! I don't know if the camera lies, but he looks so relaxed; a very warm and gentle looking person. Your family must be a great joy to you.

  15. Didn't you know that 60 is the new 40? Well,,,even if it isn't it's better than the alternative, right? I celebrated mine recently, too, and figured you can't fight it so you might as celebrate big. And I did!

So Happy Birthday Mr. Life! May there be many many more.

  17. A very happy belated birthday to your Ross! Aren't we lucky to both have one? :) Yours looks very sweet in these lovely photos, and so does the rest of your family.
I'm here to take you up on your offer of switching lives...I have sciatica at the moment after hurting my back digging something up last Saturday...so I'll gladly change places with you. Still want to? I think marking exams might be kind of fun right now. Does that give you an indication of how much fun sciatica is?
We're getting some very welcome rain this morning and it sounds wonderful on the roof...so there is that benefit :) Plus, we've had a Baltimore Oriole singing his beautiful song to us in the 2 large Maple trees all week long, so there's no need to turn the radio on for music.
P.S. I'm used to elderly men, so that wouldn't be a problem ;) I think my Ross would enjoy your accent and sense of humour :)
