Brrr and bah!

It's still very cold. The snow has melted a bit, but not much. This confirms my mother's scepticism about global warming.

Son has gone. Sigh.

Daughters have returned. Hurray!

Guinea pigs have been reunited with their loving owners. Good.

I've lost my camera. In the house (I think). This seems impossible, but I've done it. You'd think we lived in a mansion. I'm so frustrated by this. You haven't seen it, have you?

  1. Maybe Son accidentally took it with him?

Global warming very much in evidence down our way, sorry to say.

  2. Dr P is a global warming sceptic, but I know exactly how much notice to take of his views.
I hope you find your camera. I have lost my 2009 diary, before having transferred all the information into next year's. I don't think I lost it in the house, either. I am despairing! Is it the time of year that causes us to lose things?

  3. It's in the bookcase! I'm sure of it, 'cause I know you spend a lot of time there! And OhMyGosh -- the garden under a big, beautiful blanket! What a lovely sight!

  4. Let's check in with the polar bears and see if they've noticed any effects from global climate change.

    Hope the camera turns up!

  5. Once again the guinea pigs survive the house of cats unscathed. Hurrah!

  6. Have you checked down the back of the sofa? I only ask because that's where we usually find missing items (often one of the three thousand remote controls that inhabit our living room). SB was very impressed with the guinea pig photos and the cat photos, and states that while he likes both cats, he has a preference for Sirius. I am not sure why.

  7. Loth - If he's a Harry Potter fan, then that explains his preference for Sirius (Sirius Black is one of the main characters).

Rachel - When reading about your lost camera, it occurred to me that they should install a "call feature" on them, so that you can dial a number on your phone and make it ring. That's how I find my cell phone half the time - ha!

  8. I lost an almost new camera years ago and it never turned up. How did that happen?? I remember it from time to time and saw the box again today. I hope you have better luck than I in finding it.

  9. On your desk/coffee table/bedside table/kitchen counter/in your coat pocket/in the fridge...

These are the places I suggest to the Alchemist as he is always misplacing items (and yes, once the fridge was the right place).

  10. Down the back of the couch - it's a treasure trove down there. I found a whole new lot of hair accessories when I went looking and the lost remote control (no batteries though).

  11. I do hope your camera turns up. 'In This Life' would not be the same without pictures of black cats and snow scenes! I am fascinated the way snow and grey skies make everything in photos look like it is all black and white. No green trees, and even people look sepia toned!
Thank you for your good wishes on my blog - Happy New Year to you too!

  13. I'm glad the mysterious disappearing camera has been found at this point :) I'm sorry you had to go through the frustration! It's horrible when something just vanishes, isn't it? I just found my hubby's warm winter hat this morning after 3 days of searching (not continuously), which is large and brown...too big to miss, but missing it was. Found in the nick of time! It was so cold, snowy and windy today that they cancelled church. Imagine that! We were very glad to stay inside as much as possible and not have to drive on the roads.
I'm with your mother on the Global Warming thing. It's all about big money (for some) and more taxes for us (who foot the bill). Good on your mum! We weren't all born yesterday :)
