Ho ho ho

I half-decorated the Christmas tree this afternoon but then decided that it was more urgent to write cards and letters. (Above is last year's tree.) So this is what I was doing until a few minutes ago; I'm about to return to the task. I don't mind doing this but my neck hurts from bending over and I'd rather be lying in a warm bath reading my book.

What are you / should you be doing?

And what would you rather be doing? (No scandalous answers, please.)

  1. Well I've just posted my weekly blog post and I'm still in bed with the laptop (hope that's not classified as scandalous!). And what I should be doing is getting up, showering and taking myself off to do the grocery shopping ..... damn it now I'll have to do it. Zxx

  2. Thinking of eating the leftover supper in the fridge - it's comfort food, tuna pot pie, and I miss my Mom today.
Somedays I live too far away.

I should be writing a good blog post. Or reading the next chapter of my course work. Or addressing Christmas cards. Or....something.

  3. We are watching curling on TV. I probably should be doing something active like exercising or walking (but it's pitch dark and -25 here so that's out). Besides it's women's curling so I feel that I have a duty to watch it. Being Scottish you are from one of the few countries in the world who know what curling is. You do know, don't you?

  4. Since I'm sharing my comfy chair with Tali-cat, who just snored at me after I fluffed his belly...I can't really think of what I'd rather be doing.

However, I probably SHOULD be making a to-do list for next week, the last week of the term, to make sure I'm on track with my paperwork to graduate in May. Or cooking. Or Cleaning.

I'm going back to rubbing the cat's belly now.

  5. I'm watching a fabulous A-Capella group on tv and reading your blog -- with my feet up 'cause I had a very hard 7 hours of shopping today. There's nothing I'd rather be doing now. Hope you get your tree done this weekend!

  6. What if the scandalous answer is incredibly witty? Is that OK?

    I'm hot and sweaty...

from vacuuming in this sweltering summer heat and I am about to turn the air conditioner on. I would rather be watching a maid do the cleaning!

  7. I'm writing/researching an assignment for my PGCE, would much rather be crafting/baking with the kiddos.

  8. I am hiding in the kitchen to avoid the X Factor final the girls are glued to. I'm about to finish the ironing.I'd rather be...sitting in front of the lovely fire with my crochet or the book I've just started.

  9. At work (lunch time - I'm not skiiving off!) with a pile of uninspiring jobs to finish...sigh. I'd rather be home with my daughters who are on summer holidays. I expect there is a pile of uninspiring household jobs to finish there too but it's still fun doing them with the girls.

  10. I am getting ready to take my youngest daughter to school, grab some coffee and get things done! I should be... paying bills, going through the paper pile on my desk and exercising! :)

  11. I'm waking up my small, reluctant son to face a new day.

I'd sort of like to be taking an extended walk each day at this time. My exercise habits are very poor, and if I'm not careful I'll pay in a few years.

Wishing you and your family a good Christmas!

  12. How can you ask a question like that and then quantify it with a request for no scandalous answers?

    Honestly, some people.

That's it. I'm taking my shirt off.

  13. I would like to be eating fresh oysters and drinking champagne out in the sun on my balcony.

Just THINKING of all my chores is exhausting. Oysters are a much nicer option.

  14. I would possibly quite like to be doing something scandalous, to be honest, but oysters will be enough.
