The wonder of the internet

I've just had a wee look at my stats. Oh, I thought, someone from Morocco. I wondered why they looked at my blog. I investigated. They'd found me by Googling "Nice people" - the title of a recent post.

I looked at the web page they'd found me on. It was on a page full of links to holidays in France, specifically to Nice.

Possibly I came as something of a disappointment to them.

  1. I found you through fifi, who I found through shauna (aka dietgirl), who I found through diana who I met while tutoring math at college five years ago. I love these internet daisy chains.

  2. I highly doubt you disappointed your Moroccan visitors. Your blog is delightful. Interesting, though, how people find us, eh?

  3. Or just the Nice person they were looking for! :) I hadn't had a chance to comment on your smirr, yet, but I absolutely love the word. I think we might get smirr on Thursday, so I can use the word then. :)) Now we have to meet in person to hear how it's pronounced! :))

  4. The internet is amazing, really who would have thought a few years ago that we could comminicate like this.

I'm not really sure how I found you! I do love reading your entries. I don't think you would have been a disappointment at all!

How did you find me by the way?

I'm not sure how I came here - I think maybe you found me via the wonderful Fifi?

But it always feels very relaxing here somehow. Funny but different blogs make me feel different ways - only good ways cos I wouldn't visit a blog that made me feel grim (well, not on a regular basis).

I never remember to look at Stats but I don't have my blog listed on Google so I don't get people who get there via searches. When I did have it listed, most people who got there accidentally did so by searching for "dog poo". Charming eh?

I am going to get a kitten as soon as I get back to the UK.

  6. Isn't the quirkiness of life fun! It is great to finish reading a post and to be smiling for a long time afterwards.
    How do you do stats???

  7. I would rather visit NICE at In This Life than NICE in France ANY. DAY. OF. THE. WEEK!!! And dang it! I read those airfares wrong -- I knew they were too good to be true!!!

  9. That was good for a chuckle.

Sometimes, just through such accidents, we find things which intrigue us and make us happy.

  10. Gosh, I don't remember how I found you - Shauna, possibly? (All roads lead to/from Dietgirl!) Glad I did, anyway.

  11. I have no idea how I found you ages ago - but I remember being so delighted to find someone else in the UK blogging!

And your mystery prize will be winging its way to you in the next couple of days!

  13. I met you through Linds (above comment) via Ramblings from an English Garden (which doesn't seem to be around anymore, shame)from Ragged Roses. We had been to the UK in 2005 and were planning another trip (2008); I was looking for not so touristy places to visit. Blogs are a lovely, friendly source of information. All your photos are so enticing! Yes, we have the bluest skies - we also have 40+C, dust, flies, little rain and bushfires! Does that equate to ice and snow and grey days?

  14. I rarely check my stats, & then don't seem to find out such interesting details that you do!
Those cats must be the luckiest in Scotland... or even the world!

  16. oh, nicole...you've never given ME a comment! lol.

    Isabelle, two things.

person is probably suitably baffled as to why there are pictures of snow in Nice on tis blog.

But simultaneously delighted to have found the cats.....

I came here via Pussycat: it was your comments!

  17. Every year, I buy the Black Cat Calendar that is on sale in most shops here which carry a large range of calendars. Each month features a large glossy colour photo of one black cat, and as gorgeous as they all are, none of them are as sweet as your photos of your Catlets. I think you should contact a calendar publisher and submit your kitty photos for a Two Black Cats calendar - I'd buy one every year!
