Lockdown week 11 - Sunday. A post for Nanny and Gramps.

In Scotland, we're allowed to meet up with one other household, outside, as long as there are no more than eight people in the gathering. So SIL 1 kindly drove Daughter 1 and their children over this afternoon. It was SO nice. Children are always so busy! Biggest Granddaughter got stuck into the Duplo.

Big Grandson had asked Mr L if he had any London tube maps or books (well, obviously) so spent some time poring over this map and asking questions about it. He took some books and maps home to study.

Granddaughter constructed a Duplo playpark. One item she made was a car with a sliding thing underneath so that small boys could slide themselves under it and pretend they were mending it. I think that's a genuinely good idea for a playpark. You can also climb on top of the car, as she was keen to point out.

Then Grandson started making a Duplo/Brio layout.

After a while, art took over. Grandson drew a map of his layout.

Here are the adults, socially distancing.

It was all very lovely and heartwarming and yes, Mr L does still have his beard.

  1. Wonderful pictures! I bet everyone was so happy to be together. As I've said before, your grandchildren are creative and brilliant. I love that pink flower in the pot--what is it? (it looks like a geranium)

    1. It is, except that it's really a pelargonium.
