Sedum "Autumn Joy"

You know how men hate to ask directions? Well, some men, anyway. One particular man not too far away from me at this moment.

I think I may have found a clue as to why this is.

I was walking along this evening when a car pulled up and the (male) driver asked for directions.

“It’s not far,” I said. “Just take the first right and then the first left.”

“Right and then right,” he said.

“No, right and then left.”

“Right,” he said, and got back in his car. Then he drove off and turned left.

Women are from Venus and men are from… well, it probably varies.

PS - My husband isn't like this at all. He always has a map of everywhere, and if by any chance we do get a little lost and I am (eventually) allowed to ask directions, he's very good at following them. (This is just in case he reads this. Though it's true.)

  2. Isabelle, that cracked me up :o) all you can do is shake your head and wonder why they think they are such good navigators... ah well.

Btw, I loved your last post. Reminded me very much of my lovely younger brother, affectionately known as 'troll'. He constantly does things like that, bless him.

  3. hello, Isabelle! I didn't know you had a blog, as well, but I'm guessing you're the same Isabelle who comments on mine, as the many clues have led me to believe! Great blog-and I love all the photos!!

  4. I think they're afraid it might prove that they're not Mighty Duck, and don't, after all, know everything. My OC will drive in circles for hours before he'll admit defeat by asking for directions.

  5. Yes! My GOM will never ask directions, & reluctantly will allow me to ask, but only when all else has failed!
Same thing with instructions.... always the last resort.

  6. Yes, easy! It's still just plain and purl in different arrangements...with a little carrying of stitches, in front of and behind your work, thrown in for good measure.

  7. Grinning at this post too...oh, do you turn your street directory/map upside down so it points in the direction that you are driving? (If you a male and reading this, move on. Only a woman would understand this question.)
