Halfy birthday to you

Our boy was born 23 and a half years ago today (29 August 1984) so this is his sixth half-birthday. Does that make him 3? We gave him six candles, anyway. And some Maltesers.

Excuse the messy kitchen. It's been a busy week. (The bit you can't see is immaculate.)

  3. What a tinsy winsy little cake, I would eat that in one go.

    Happy Birthday, young man!

  4. The small cake - well, he's only 6or possibly 3, and it was only his half-birthday. Also he's nearly a doctor so he's health-conscious. At least, he doesn't - for health reasons - want his dad to eat too much in the way of cake. He's ok eating cake himself.

  5. And why pray tell, are there no feline assistants in attendance?---for blowing out candles....

  6. Are malteasers like chocolate maltballs?

  7. A happy birthday for a happy looking lad! It's amazing how many people I've run into who have a leap year birthday!

  8. I love the idea of a halfy birthday. I tried to convince my family that I could handle two birthdays a year, but they thought I was only in it for the presents! How silly of them. I was in it for the cake too.

  9. Happy Halfy!
Is this because he will be in NZ when the full term birthday comes around?

  10. why isn't it his 23rd half birthday? I feel I'm missing the point here somewhere, but surely every year brings a half birthday at the six month mark?? Mine will be May 1st. I'll look forward to it...
