December 17th

Mr Life bought new lights for the outdoor little tree. They're a bit small, but we like to think of the effect as subtle. They could flash but I wouldn't let Mr Life leave them on flash mode. Subtle, remember? Not flashy.

Daughter 2 borrowed a Santa outfit for her boss to wear at their work Christmas dinner, so of course, being a subtle and tasteful person, I made her try it on.

I think she quite suits a beard.

Naturally we had to get Sirius in the photo too. He seemed a bit confused.

Lastly, Mr Life was forced to dress up.

One size seems to fit all, surprisingly.
By the weekend, our real tree will be standing on that spot. Mr Life will have put it up, with a merry smile and not a single complaint.
Tomorrow will be the 41st anniversary of the evening that I took him to my school dance, the beginning of our romance...

  6. Happy Dance Anniversary from me too! I can see the House of Life is clearly gearing up for the Christmas spirit! I think you should keep the FC outfit. It appears to be popular. Now we need a photo of the rest of the family in it too. That would include you, Mrs Life!

  7. I'm happy for your daughter that she has to put on a Santa suit in order to have a beard. I remember those days fondly.

  8. What a Life! You've made me feel quite romantic. As well as amused and appreciative. We don't have a tree as Dr P is a Bah! Humbug sort of person, but when I get to elsewhere it is quite different.

  9. Happy Anniversary.
I like the shadow beside the Christmas tree, and I especially like the one-size-fits-all Santa suit. Just as it should!

  10. Yes Isabelle -- I agree with Linds -- where is YOUR Santa suit photo? You guys have SO much fun! Mr. Life did a wonderful job on the little tree -- I'm with you on the flashing lights -- the only thing I leave flashing are the red bells, 'cause that's the way my Grandma had them.

Happy Dance Anniversary! We know what's coming next!!!

  15. Thimbleanna is right - you guys seem to have so much fun at your place! It is like a breath of fresh air to read a blog where the family members obviously love one another dearly, despite any issues going on in their separate lives. Bless you all.

  17. I'm looking forward to seeing your tree. I wasn't going to have one this year as D is away working on the rigs and I'll be going to my parents but that just seemed too sad so I got a little tree in a pot and I think it's perfect; we might be doing one like that every year!! And no dropping so far!

Love the santa suits....I tried the dogs in hats but with very little sucess!! Maybe humans are more cooperative than dogs, not usually but maybe at Christmas.

Congratulations on your lovely dance anniversary. I always remember the anniversary of our first kiss (27 January) which will be 20 years ago in January...

which just confirms our position as The Height of Vulgarity and Flashiness. Nothing remotely like understatedness out there in the 'burbs.
