Please, no more comments on the previous post! I will add another tuppenceworth but not now. Didn't mean to start - well, continue - a debate. The sun is shining, the cats are purring but I must do an urgent task right now.
(I used the word "whingeing", not you, Mary - didn't mean to imply that you did use it. But I'm aware of whingeing. That's how I think of myself when I do it. Nor did you say you were "irritated", though I (mis)remembered that you did. You said you felt impatient. Sorry.)
I'm off!
And now can you all move on? Back to cute stories about the Cats and Grandson?
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy your blog, you can "whinge" if you want to, I do plenty of that on my blog.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great and moving exchange. I learned something from all involved.
ReplyDeleteLesley xx
It's your blog you can write about anything you want to. I enjoy reading about everything in your neck of the woods. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I take a few days away from the computer and there's big excitement. I do love a good exchange of ideas. We all lead such different lives and I love it that blogs reflect those different experiences, good or bad. What an interesting conversation and I would expect no less from one of my favorite blogs!

ReplyDeleteAs Stephen Covey (The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People) said, "Two people can see the same thing, disagree, and yet both be right".
ReplyDeleteChange my browser and I miss everything. Your son looks so Doctorish (is that a word? it's meant as a compliment!) at his desk. I can see that grandson is looking to uncle for clues as to the proper way to address the camera. I must presume that it is a genetic thing. What fun you have together and it is wonderful to see a family be a family. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI so love your blog... just want you to know that.. Sorry I hardly ever comment..kind of shy :)
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day
Sorry to be so disobedient....but I have to add my two cents. Gina's comment above is telling---"can we now resume cute stories about Cats and Grandsons?" They are cute and we all enjoy them but this whole kettle of fish is, with apologies to Cats and Grandson, so much more interesting. Mary/anonymous so obviously meant no malice. After reading everything, I almost wept for her. I wish she had a blog too, she writes so well. I'd read it for sure. And I love your blog too Isabelle, but why do you want to shy away from things that stir deep feelings in us all? OK, do I have to go stand in the corner now?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Molly, and also found Anon/Mary's comments very moving. Our interior lives areas important and fascinating as the exterior lives.
ReplyDeleteI too would like to express support for Mary, whose words I found very eloquent and moving, and as a woman without children myself found much to sympathise with.
ReplyDeleteHowever, beyond this, I don't think this is the place to do so.
Mary, please, if you are reading, would you consider a conversation elsewhere? I'd be very happy to exchange e-mails, if you make yourself known at my blog, (Box Elder) I'll give you my address first if you prefer not to put yours out even on the partially open channel of the comments box, but I'd prefer to do so over there. I accept anonymous comments (large quantities of spam in my inbox notwithstanding), and you can call yourself what you want. Please think about it, I'm serious and sincere.
Thanks Isabelle.
