Out of the mouths...

I don't know why Granddaughter looks orange here - she isn't. But she's very smiley. And hand-wavey.

Grandson's recent experiences of feeling that he's surrounded by idiots: Episode 3

[He picks up feather from the floor (escaped from cushion) and hands it to me.]

Me: Thank you. That's a feather. It's from a bird.
Grandson: No, it's from me.

  1. Hello Isabelle! Long time, no visit! I haven't been blogging for a couple of years and have missed my "bloggy" friends. Just browsing this morning to see who's still posting, and happy to see that you are. You've made me laugh, as you always did. So lovely to read your musings. Those grandchildren are precious. You'll have to think fast to out-think that little grandson :) (I apologize to the teacher if I've misspelled "out-think"). I'm happy to read that you're enjoying retirement and finding lots to keep you busy, including piano lessons....how wonderful! Enjoy that theory :) Believe it or not, I did...and never reached level 8. Does anyone who doesn't start at a young age??

  2. P.S. I'm so sorry to read that your dear mum died. I know the death of a parent (or any loved one) leaves a huge hole in your heart. Mothers are such a part of us and the wrench when they leave us is enormous. My heart goes out to you dear friend.

  3. Wow, Kerry, so nice to hear from you. I've missed you and was a bit worried in case something was wrong. Hope you're going to post again and make me green with envy about your beautiful garden!

Thanks re my mum. I miss her daily.

  4. I don't know if you're doing this, but we kept books when our kids grew up (I know these are your grandkids, but it's the same principle) in which we wrote all the funny things they said, knowing that one day we wouldn't remember. We still get those books out now when we're all together and have a big laugh.
