Lockdown week 7 - Wednesday

The weather's been amazing recently - this was today's cloudless blue sky... This is not necessarily typical Scottish weather.

We went over the golf course, out of the gate and up the lane to the hill. Then we walked along the top of the hill - which isn't flat - lots of ups and downs.

Through the trees, there are views of the sea and the hills beyond. The sea isn't always this blue.

And we wandered through the woods. There are lots of different paths but fortunately Mr L has a good sense of direction.

It's bluebell season.

We didn't know whether the walled garden would be open, but we took a chance and walked down the steep hillside to investigate. We were pleased to find out that it was. So we walked round it and then sat for a while, admiring it. There were a couple of mums chasing small children and also a group of older people soaking up the sun.

The garden is run by volunteers. It had become derelict and was restored in the early 2000s.

And then we went back up the hill again and retraced our steps down to the golf course where we found my sun glasses, which I'd left on a little wall we'd sat on while reading WhatsApps from the family. So that was good.

4 and a third miles today, but they were somewhat uppy-downy miles, so we felt quite exercised by the time we got home.

A friend sent me this email earlier: On a walk today, Cocoa our dog came out of the woods and spotted a squirrel. She chased it towards some flats. The squirrel ran up the wall of the flats and on the first floor a kitchen window was open. The squirrel went in. We left quickly.

Oops.

  1. Oh, a squirrel in the house would NOT be good! You are having a run of great weather. Scotland is beautiful no matter what though.
