The bride and the pregnant bridesmaid sat yesterday in the sitting room, on chairs which aren't normally there but are on transit out of the house, and discussed dresses. Cassie lent an air of gravitas to the proceedings. I think we made some progress, though possibly not enough.
Then today Daughter 2, Son and his young lady, Mr Life and I went to the Botanic Gardens. (Goodness, these photos have arranged themselves peculiarly.)
Happy Mothering Sunday, Isabelle. DS and his lovely wife came to stay this weekend and we too went to admire seas of daffodils. Now they have gone back home and all is quiet again. DD is ill in the US - thank heavens for Skype so that I can see for myself that she is at least getting better! Children should not be allowed to move away from their mothers :)
ReplyDeleteIs Scott cat sitting again? Or is it another Aussie?
ReplyDeleteI don't go jogging. I so hate to show people up .....
ReplyDeleteYour Botanic Gardens are beautiful - we fell in love with them when we visited Edinburgh in 2008. (And you have taken such good care of our Wollemi pine too!)
ReplyDeleteAll the very best with the dress hunting - hopefully, you and your lovely daughters will have a lot of fun along the way.
Oooh, the catlets will have an exotic cat sitter. I thought how fun that you had all the children home, and then I realized that it was Mother's Day weekend for you, which made it all perfect! Have DS and his young lady set a date?
ReplyDeleteHow lovely those flowers look. So many gorgeous daffodils. And the family looks so happy to be together.
ReplyDeleteI have just been re-reading One Good Turn and finding all Edinburgh setting quite fascinating.
What a lovely weekend and you got to the Botanic, lucky duck. Our children didn't leave us - we left them :(
ReplyDeleteA wonderful family get together.
ReplyDeleteShe ran? Ran? I am lost in admiration!
Gosh, that is quite a logistical problem, the bridesmaid dress. Thinking back to my preferred way of dressing with a 3-month old baby, I suggest something loose, with a button down top for easy access (should bubs need a feed), a nice shawl (for draping modestly over herself should bubs need a feed), and a co-ordinating spit rug to catch any baby vomits. New motherhood: it is a very glamorous time of your life.
ReplyDeleteYou really did do the mothering thing right Isabelle..all your children are part of your life and look like lovely people..have a pat on the back!
ReplyDeleteyour garden looks beautiful, Isabelle. Looking forward to walking around it!
