I hate the new Blogger arrangement. Just call me Ludd.

Well, Daughter 1 came round today and showed me how to load up photos with the new Blogger arrangement (personally I thought it was fine as it was) - goodness me, it's going to look funny on the page, I think. Anyway, this is by way of an experiment. I'm really exhausted and a bit overwrought with the disposing of all Mum's possessions, so I thought I'd look at some pictures of our recent break at Crieff. Above you see the house we stayed in - or the two houses, with the fine arrangement of the identical, but tidy, house next door.
Above is the view from our Crieff sitting room window. How I wish this was the view from our own house.
This is the path down to the Hydro, with its swimming pool, tennis courts, badminton courts and so on. And of course, the Winter Garden, where in the picture to the right my niece is reacquainting herself with Grandson while Daughter 2 and Sister-in-Law have a bit of a snack.

Well, well, better get on with dealing with the move-related chaos in our house. It's looking a bit better but not yet in a state when I'd like to entertain my tidier friends. I haven't had time to read blogs for ages - we're now in the process of cleaning Mum's flat for the benefit of the new owners - but on Friday we hand over the keys and will be FREE! Or as free as you can be with a nearly-90-year-old to look after and boxes of her possessions sitting around waiting to be found a home.

Now, if this doesn't post I shall be VERY CROSS.

  3. Mr Ludd has innumerable friends and descendants. The new Blogger is indeed a puzzlement.

  4. Hi Isabelle,
I think we were all quite happy with Blogger as it was....why must they keep changing bits? Strangely we don't all seem to have to change at the same time. Is it country by country? I am not sure now if you are one jump ahead or if I have been using new Blogger for ages. I know I was using ONE new Blogger - but is it the same NEW or a second one?
I think it is reassuring for us more senior users if they explain what they are doing and WHY.

  5. I don't care for the new look either! I guess they think it's progress, but we should get to vote if we want to change formats or not.

  6. Yay -- it posted! Happily this move will soon be behind you. And it's May! That means it's almost summer. Which means nicer weather and gardening for you!

  7. You were successful in all you tried to do with your blog today, or so I think. The word "hydro" is interesting to me. I know it from reading about the history of Moffat, but I didn't realize it was still in use. I hope you feel a great sense of relief on Friday! I know it's not all finished, but what a milestone along the way for you. I'm trying to get rid of things (what my daughter Em calls "blessing other people with your stuff" but it's truly slow work.

  8. Blogger seems okay to me, but I wonder if my posts look odd to other people as I use firebird not explorer. Can't think why they needed to change it either.

  9. Like Ali Honey, Blogger changed things around here (Down Under) a few months ago. It took me ages to get used to it, but now I'm quite happy with the new system. Just hope we don't change AGAIN too soon.
That place Crieff looks lovely; yes it would nice to have a view like that from your own home. I've had similar feelings with views not far from where I live.
I do feel for you with all this upheaval. At least Ken and his sister had a year to think about what to do with their Mum's house and contents; I don't think they would have coped as well as you if they'd had such a limited time frame!

  10. Hi, I came across your blog looking for interesting accommodation in Crieff as our family is planning a short break there... Where you stayed looks terrific, is it really walking distance from the Hydro? Can you give me details about your cottage? Thanks ever do much! -Suzanne Foxton
