Sunny Edinburgh?

This is what we got done to the back roof of our house today. (Why are the curtains on the upstairs bathroom closed, Mr Life?) The solar panels cost lots of money. Hmm. And they're not even pretty.

Now all we need is for the sun to beat relentlessly down all day, every day from now on and we'll get lots of free electricity. Bound to happen, don't you think? This is Scotland, after all. Look - can you see that faint shadow cast on the left by the tv aerial?

  1. Yay! I love ours. Our first power bill was $12 in credit.

  2. I think they look nice, probably because I view them as highly practical and I'm a fan of science fiction. We are going to investigate a similar array on our south-facing front roof here.

Did it only take a day to have them installed? I'm impressed.

  3. I wish they didn't make the darn things so expensive, because I'm sure I'd love to get them as well. Tons of sun here on Long Island, all year round, really. The price of having them installed is just too much for regular folks living paycheck to paycheck. Pity.

  4. Solar panels are becoming very popular here too....but unfortunately a local firm went bust recently, leaving many people with faulty units and no come back.

  6. I love the idea and am extremely jealous! :) I wanted to put some on our house but hubby said they cost too much. Still thinking it over. ;)
    Keep us posted on them!
