He's improving!

We had Grandson today because Daughter 1 went back to work. He's a bit better - still runny of nose and rather hoarse, but on the whole very cheerful and much more energetic than of late. We went for a walk.
The walk is as much to give us all a rest as for any other reason because he spends most of his day walking round the house. His specialities are: switching lights on and off; and picking things up, wandering off with them and laying them down in another room. When he goes home we have to put them all back again.

Mostly he's very good at not touching things he's told not to - as I've said before, saying "A-a-a!" tends to stop him. But today he reached for this little cup on the right. "A-a-a!" I said, but he picked it up anyway and, with a big smile, daintly pretended to drink out of it.

"Awwwww!" I said to Mr Life. "Isn't that CUTE!" And I beamed approvingly at Grandson.

Yup, that's the way to instil a sense of discipline into the young. Consistency.

Tramping the steets and saying, "No!" You do bring it all back!

StReets! Perhaps tramping steets is a custom somewhere in the world, perhaps harvest related? Most Google...

Mostly consistent is great for kids. Always consistent is a killer tyranny.

So glad he's on the mend! So sweet he's ready for tea! :)

I like Jean's comment. How true that is! I always thought I would be a dreadful mother if I'd had kids, because I would have been too unforgiving of all those little sins.
Glad Grandson is regaining his good health.

Good that he is on the mend. He must be feeling better if he is pushing the limits. If you are cute enough you can get away with a lot! Perhaps the law-abiding amongst us were not very cute?
My, you all look so rugged up. Not like here!
