Day 1

I've just been reminded by Linds of Rocking Chair Reflections that it's the first day of NaBloPoMo, when one may want to start posting every day in November. So here's a picture of Mr Life and Grandson today at the Botanics. Grandson has a(nother) nasty cold, which doesn't dent his sunny disposition but does make it hard for him to get to sleep while sucking his thumb. It was chilly but sunny, so we wrapped him up like a little cocoon and he seemed to enjoy the walk. In fact he enjoys everything except having his nose wiped.

The colours of the trees are past their best now, but still pretty.

They look better with sunlight on them, but by the time I thought of taking photos, the sun had retreated behind the trees. Now that the clocks have gone back it gets dark quite early. Thank goodness for the clock change, though I know some people in the south don't like it. But here in Edinburgh, and more so further north, the sun would rise horribly late in winter mornings if we stayed on British Summer Time all year.

What terrible news from America. I'm so sorry for all those affected by the storm. What an unpredicable thing life is, to be sure.

  1. Grandson is absolutely precious. I love his cute little face that is surrounded by his warm hood. You are a very blessed grandmother.

I have never communicated before but have unexpectedly become involved in your life over many years. You write so richly and with so much intelligence that I feel I know your family in many ways even though i am so far away in Australia. Look forward to your interesting thoughts as life happens and your experiences unfold.
